Check-in

Representatives from the UConn Parents Association and the New Student Orientation staff will greet you with a Family Weekend program at the Student Union. Check-in is 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday; and 10 a.m. – noon on Sunday. At check-in you will receive a detailed schedule listing all receptions and weekend events.

Parking

Free parking is available in all campus parking lots. Paid parking is available in the University parking garages. A continuous shuttle from the Student Union to the Horticulture show will be provided on Saturday.

Dining Options

Enjoy a variety of meal options, including special event meals, our campus dining halls, and the eateries in the Student Union, as well as the cuisine of local restaurants. A restaurant guide will be provided at check-in.

Please note: There are no refunds for reservations made for any of the special meals: BBQ, President’s Dinner or Provost’s Breakfast. There are also no waiting lists.

UConn Family Weekend

Dear UConn Families,

You are cordially invited to Family Weekend 2009, an annual UConn tradition that offers a rich array of activities for the entire family.

Held Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4 at our Storrs campus, Family Weekend is a fun way for you to experience a variety of events that showcase UConn student life. Highlights include: a comedy performance by Caroline Rhea and Mike Birbiglia ; a special presentation by Professor Ron Mallet; the 63rd Annual Horticulture Show; the Cultural Explosion – a celebration of diversity; delicious dining, and the opportunity to meet President Michael J. Hogan and Provost Peter Nicholls. This is a great way to spend time on campus with your student and absorb the energy and excitement of the UConn experience.

ON LINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
You may register on site in the Student Union on
Friday from 3:00pm TO 5:00pm;
Saturday from 9:00am TO 5:00pm;
and Sunday from 10:00am TO 12:00 noon.

ALL MEALS ARE SOLD OUT.University dining halls, listed in the schedule, are open for meals. Also see the restaurant listings.

Tickets are still available for the comedy show in Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.
